Dermal fillers aka “boosts” are gel-like substances made out of hyaluronic acid injected under the skin. Dermal fillers are meant to create a smoother and fuller-looking appearance. They aid in “filling in” or plumping up areas that have lost any volume. We are able to inject fillers into the temples, under eyes, cheeks, nose, smile lines, lips, chin, jawline, and hands. Some fillers can last for 6 to 12 months, while other fillers can last 2 to 5 years!
To dissolve these fillers or “boosts”, we use hyaluronidase which is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronidase has an immediate reaction and will continue to work for 48 hours once it’s injected. There will be localized swelling that resolves within a few hours.
